windows - AVI files play locally using WMP but not off my website WMP ActiveX -
I have a web page that allows the client to play uploaded videos. Many avi files have recently been uploaded which use WMP to play locally well but fails to use WMP ActiveX playback on the web and the browser is hanging.
AVI codecs are videos: MJPG, Audio: PCM
GSPT says that all codecs are installed on my Windows Vista OS, but it seems that WPM Active X has access to them Can not find ...
Any help is extremely irrelevant.

When you say that they play okay at the local level, But not on the web, are you talking about the same machine? The ability to play a given AVA depends primarily on the right codec available on the machine running the file. If the browser is hanging, it may be that the full file has not been downloaded yet. If the file is not streamable, the whole thing has to be downloaded before the playback starts, and it can appear that the browser is locked, when in fact this file is in the process of downloading.
I try to paste the URL of the video in a browser so that it can access the file from the web server. If it can, and it prompts you to download or open the file, then the web server is not a problem. If you can download and run the file on a given machine using the media player, then you play it away from Should be enabled in, but if it is not a streaming file, then the media player will hang up until the whole file is downloaded.
