Alice vs Python for someone with zero experience -
My brother wants to learn some programming to know whether he will enjoy doing it, he is 16 years old and There is not much information about and especially knows nothing about programming.
I'm thinking of choosing Python either. I see it is often recommended to read, but this is not very small (size-wise) for a start? This is certainly not very complicated, but I'm not optimistic about my brother ... :) Can he try something else that will be small and very easy?
Besides, does anyone have any experience with Alice? I would not really like to start programming like this myself, but I can see why the visual aspect may be more attractive to some people. I am not sure how limited it is and if the time used to learn pseudo language It will not be better to learn any real language.
EDIT: Thank you for your reply. I think we will go with Python, however, as I mentioned above, is not Thing Python a little too wide for the full "novice"? Any other but easy Python programming introduction can you recommend?
The advantage of Python is that - can it be cut by a bug - a huge community and much more There are all resources for dragging and exploring.
If it does not bite by Python, then programming can be difficult to sell anyhow, so I have the advantage of starting on the logo-like, even 3D animated ones like Alice Alice definitely It can be fun, because Leah scripts can write to increase the title of the mainstream game. But in the thirties of all the hardcore programmers are now turbo pascal or even when around 16, the python has begun, and the dragon provides a modern modern technology.
