asp.net - What's the most used format for webpages for mobile? -

This is a long time because I have seen anything in the mobile world so I am very much in touch. I have a website (done in ASP.NET) which is currently live and I need to make it a mobile version.

What is the best / most commonly used format of pages these days mobile? Is it cutting the HTML page with some graphics etc. or is it WLL or something else?

The types of handsets being targeted can be anything - I think what's in the pocket of people

I do not think some smart phones such as iPhone WML do. I would like to be on XHTME with small graphics (not HTML only - it is important to have XHTML because this is less processor intensive, and you should write good code anyway).
