Configuring Blackberry Eclipse plugin for 4.70 or 5.0 components -

I'm looking for help to configure the BlackBerry development environment. In fact, this is a very disappointing process. The blackberry site is very useless. The documents that have been transferred between the links, which have been taken and the documents that have been in the olden times, are proving to be very difficult to get anywhere with the BlackBerry development.

I finally got JED to work Eclipse (which is a story). However, my Blackberry workspace is only giving me the option of targeting 4.5 JDI components. How can I update it to use the 4.7 component?

This would be better for step-by-step instructions, but I appreciate any help that can be provided.

Agree fully - it is not quite clear what to do. I did not have luck using my updated site, so I just downloaded and installed Component Pack manually:

  1. "Eclipse software update for the Blackberry JEE v4.7 Component Pack" Download the BlackBerry Developer Zone (this is a zip file)
  2. Open the Help menu from Eclipse and select Software Update
  3. Click on Available Software Tabs
  4. Site Click Add <
  6. with Choose your zip file and select your zip file
  7. Make sure everything under the JDE 4.7 tree is checked
  8. Install and continue through the wizard
